SUNGJAE SON
is a Korean saxophonist and composer who founded the Near East Quartet (NEQ) to blend traditional Korean music with contemporary jazz. He studied composition at Yonsei University and jazz at the Berklee College of Music and Queens College, and his work has earned him awards and critical acclaim, including signing with ECM Records.
SHINYA FUKUMORI
is a Japanese jazz drummer, composer and producer. He finished his musical studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he received several awards, before he relocated to Munich, Germany in 2013. He released his debut solo album For 2 Akis with his own trio, on the ECM label in 2018. In 2020, Fukumori established his own label NAGALU and produced his second album Another Story.
In the session, they’ll focus on music and space in between both in originals and various beautiful music that selected by the band.
